City YEar Onboarding 101
Step 1- start your onboarding on Workday
The next business day after you officially confirm, you will be sent an email with instructions to login in Workday. Login and complete your virtual onboarding as soon as you can. The official deadline will be given to you by your Service Year Adviser (SYA).
Tasks are completed in sets. Once you have completed all of your tasks, refresh your browser to ensure that there are no more tasks to be completed.
City Year Employees (including your Service Year Adviser and the Service Desk!) work Monday - Friday from 9AM - 5PM. If you reach out at a different time, they may not get back to you again until they are back on the clock.

Q: I forgot my password.
A: You cannot reset your password on your own. You must call the City Year Help Desk at the following number: (617) 927-2456. Tell them you are a new confirmed Corps member and you need a password reset for Workday. If they do not pick up, leave a voicemail and include your phone number. They operate Monday - Friday.
Q: Who do I reach out to if I need help with Workday onboarding other than a password reset?
A: Your Service Year Advisor! Email or text as soon as you need help.
Step 2- Truescreen & Field Print fingerprinting
Follow the link inside the email to schedule your fingerprinting appointment. There is no cost to you for this appointment. Deadline to schedule and complete your fingerprinting will be given to you by your SYA.
The next business day after you complete your Workday onboarding, you will be sent emails to complete your next two onboarding tasks.
Field Print Fingerprinting
In an email from backgroundcheck@cityyear.org,
you will get instructions for both Truescreen and Field Print Fingerprinting
Follow the link in that email to complete this assignment. Deadline will be given to you by your SYA. If you do not receive these emails the next business day after completing your Workday tasks, reach out to your SYA.

will be sent to you to complete your Truescreen task.
Step 3- E Grant enrollment
At some point before you begin your service you will receive an email  from MyAmericorps@myamericorps.gov prompting you to complete your AmeriCorps enrollment, Follow the links in the email to complete this task. Keep an eye out!

Step 4- Attend Registration
Registration is an in-person event held at the City Year Office. This is a time to meet the site staff, get to know other cohort members, and to complete your onboarding paperwork. Check in with your SYA to get the link to sign up to attend.
Proof of citizenship
the date of registration will be given to you by your SYA
Once given, you will sign up via email
You must bring important documents to registration
AND
Government issued photo ID
AND
Social Security Card
Need a replacement doc?
Here's how to apply for official copies:
Replace your Drivers License/State ID
The most common docs used are: Drivers license, Birth certificate, and Social security Card
Start looking for these documents NOW! The process to replace them can be long and it is not free. You cannot serve without Registering on time.

I can't find these emails!
Too many times have the city year emails fallen into an email's junk or spam folder. if you can't find one or more of the emails above, check all of your folders! (Junk/Spam/Promotions). Try typing in the search area the exact email address it's coming from. double check for spelling.
Still can't find it? contact your SYA ASAP and they will try and get you a resend, dependent on timeline.
Here are some suggestions on how to best complete onboarding if you have limited access to internet/computer/printer:

IT is super important that you complete all of your onboarding tasks by the deadlines given to you. if you fall behind, you may become ineligible to serve or your offer rescinded.
